Ingredients for Vegan Brownie Recipe:

  • Coconut flour- 3/4 cup

  • Almond meal-1/4 cup

  • Coconut oil- 1/2 cup

  • Flax eggs- 2

  • Dates paste- 1/2 cup

  • Vegan cocoa powder-1/2 cup

  • Baking powder-1 1/2 tsp or vegan yoghurt

  • Nuts or raisins (optional)

How to make Vegan Brownies?

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F). A preheated oven ensures even baking and helps the brownies cook through.

Step 2: Prepare the flax eggs. Flax eggs are a great vegan substitute for eggs. To make a flax egg, mix 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed with 3 tablespoons of water and let it sit for 5 minutes until it forms a gel-like consistency.

Step 3: Combine the coconut oil, date paste, vegan yoghurt, and flax eggs in a bowl. These ingredients provide the brownies with moisture, sweetness, and richness.

Step 4: Add the cocoa powder, and coconut flour, and whisk gently until well combined. The cocoa powder gives the brownies their chocolate flavour, while the coconut flour adds a subtle sweetness and helps to bind the ingredients together. Incorporate the nuts and raisins for added texture and flavour.

Step 5: Transfer the batter to a greased baking dish lined with parchment paper. Spread the batter evenly.

Step 6: Bake until the edges start to dry. This usually takes around 25-30 minutes. To check if the brownies are done, insert a toothpick into the centre. The brownies are ready if the toothpick comes out clean.

Step 7: Let the brownies cool completely on a wire rack before cutting them into squares. Cooling the brownies allows them to set and become firmer.
