About the Recipe

Do you want to avoid adding excess white sugar to your recipes? Then this is a perfect fix. You only need 2 ingredients to make this dates paste at home-dates and water. It’s that simple.

I prefer using Mejdool dates, because it’s easily available, soft and has that distinct caramel like taste that goes well with baking.

Dates is a natural sweetener and loaded with nutrients, especially fiber.

5 Mejdool dates provides:

🌿Fibre- 8 g

🌿Potassium- 835 mg

🌿Vitamin B5 and B6- 20% of Daily requirement

🌿Copper- nearly 50% of daily requirement

Health benefits:
1. Rich in antioxidants
2. Supports bone health
3. Prevents constipation

Ingredients

  • Dates- 1 cup (around 10 dates)

  • Water: 1/2 -3/4 cup

Preparation

  1. Soak the dates for 10 minutes in water

  2. Blend the soaked dates with the remaining water in a mixer.

  3. You have to scrape down the size to get a paste of smooth consistency.

  4. You can adjust the amount of water depending on the consistency that you want.

Store it in the refrigerator in a clean, airtight glass jar for up to 2 weeks.

You can substitute the dates paste for sugar in baking for equal amounts. Dates paste can also be used for various other recipes like brownies and energy bites.
